Who will be with you on the day that your baby is born? Who will be part of your village in those first tender days and weeks postpartum? These are the questions that Richmond Doulas want to help you answer. You know the saying: it takes a village. It certainly takes a small community to build a supportive group of people to help mother a mother and navigate through the newborn period.
I’m so pleased to be kicking off what will be a wonderful series of weekly topics for both birth workers and families. As the blog progresses there will be birth stories, opinion pieces, event highlights, and many other topics of interest. Stay tuned so you don’t miss anything!
The Updated Site
Do you like the new facelift? The website has been updated and improved. It is cleaner and much more user-friendly. Let us know what you like (and dislike). This website is for you.
Richmond Doulas-for Families
Who are Richmond Doulas? You can find out all about us here . However, to save you a click, we are not a doula agency. Instead, we are a non-profit collective of doulas serving the Richmond area. We vary in experience and education, but not in compassion or dedication.
If you are interested in finding out more about birth or postpartum doulas, please contact us with your information: due date (or birth date), whether you want a birth or postpartum doula (or both), and anything else you feel we should know about what you’re looking for in a doula. Our goal is to find the very best fit for you and your family.
Richmond Doulas-for other Doulas
This website is also for other doulas and birth professionals. Would you like to be listed in the Resources page as a massage therapist, midwife, IBCLC, etc? Please contact us to let us know about your service and credentials.
Doulas, are you interested in joining our team of professionals? Contact us for more information on how to become a member. Benefits of membership in Richmond Doulas include monthly support meetings with skillshares on topics of interest to doulas, listing in our doula directory, potential clients from client inquiries, attendance at events such as birth and baby fairs, participation in our quarterly Meet the Doulas events, shadowing and mentoring opportunities, and emotional, informational, and logistical support from a group of 35+ other doulas in Richmond.
Show us some love on the Facebook page: Richmond Doulas.
Until next week!
